![]() It certainly was not worth the 500 Yen table charge per person either. Overall it was a disappointment, we didn't even stay for dark to see the city because we felt so disrespected, it killed the mood entirely. They refused to take it back and we ended up having to dig the ham out (as my partner doesn't eat pork). For a proclaimed high-end establishment, this kind of behavior is not befitting. We brought this to the wait staff's attention and they said they verified it was chicken, and then proceeded to laugh at us when we explained why this certainly didn't look or taste like chicken. We ordered the smoked chicken ceasar salad and am certain we received ham (based on the color of the meat, the texture, the fat present throughout, the skin and it's texture, and the fat present in between the meat and the skin). The garlic shrimp were very small (not like red or butterfly shrimp size) and lacked flavor. The garlic bread was actually the best dish we had but still only 4 pieces of french bread. When we arrived there was a list of drinks that were only under happy hour, not all drinks (2 wines, a champagne, a beer, and a few whiskey high balls). The website listed all drinks during happy hour as 500 Yen. We visted the Rooftop Bar and did not enjoy our experience. Note: I wrote we were the only foreigners but it is quasi emergency state and Japan has been closed to tourists for 2 years now, so it is normal.ĭefinitely had higher expectations based on the Japanese culture we've experienced so far and the recommendations on various websites. If you are in Asakusa, I can recommend this place for a good value lunch and nice view. I think they either need to change the furniture or put a cotton table cover on them. Tables do not look like they belong to the same place. Classical music, view, service, paintings suggest this is an expensive place while furnitures look like they are from a way cheaper place. I do not know why but restaurant has a very conflicting interior. Still a great value for that view! Staff was very friendly. I think amount of the food is good for Japanese and might be a bit small for foreigners (especially guys). Maybe it is different in different hours. Rest of the customers were middle age or elderly Japanese people. ![]() We were the only foreigners and youngest people among customers. Still I would love to have breakfast in the terrace in open air. All of them share the same nice view of Sky tree. ![]() Since the view was too good, we had to order a glass of wine :), and paid around ~3000-3500 yen in total. We ordered one that costs around ~2000 yen (including salad, main dish, soft drink) with an extra option of soup and desert for additional 500 yen. Their website said we can not make reservation. We visited R restaurant & bar on a Sunday for lunch. ![]()
